While in a focused hypnotic state, the mind is more able to absorb the positive suggestions that can lead to change. This may encourage the transformation of difficult or uncomfortable feelings or behaviours that may be stopping you from embracing your life fully or holding you back in some way. Hypnotherapy increases the body’s ability to heal whilst rejuvenating both body and mind.
What is hypnosis like
Being hypnotised is like a very pleasant state of relaxation, very similar to daydreaming. Hypnosis helps you achieve much more of your potential.
So many times people come to see me with this preconceived idea that they will be asleep during the session or made to do something they aren’t aware off. Let me set that record straight.
- You are not ‘asleep’ during hypnosis, you’re always aware of your surroundings and in total control at all times.
- You can not be hypnotised against your will
- You cannot be made to do something you don’t want to do. I will not have you clucking and walking around like a chicken.
TV hypnotists have a lot to answer for. Please be assured that what I do is completely different! I am NOT a stage hypnotist.
What’s involved in a session
After our initial free consultation I will tailor your session around what came up in that. I use a combination of hypnosis & IEMT to tap in to the source of your problems and give your unconscious mind positive and beneficial suggestions. You’re mind is like a sponge and will soak these up.
I may use just hypnosis on it’s own or I may use IEMT if I feel it’s appropriate. I may also use EFT or other self help techniques. Please see IEMT page for details on this.
Mind & body connection
For every illness or unwanted habit, there is a cause. The mind and body are connected, therefore what affects one must affect the other.
If we are holding onto anger, guilt, fear, resentment, criticism, pain, shame and self-hatred this can have a devastating effect on our physical and emotional well-being, including anxiety, panic attacks, depression and low self-confidence.
By changing the thought pattern, we can prevent a recurrence of the problem. We need to get to the root of the problem and weed it out so to speak. If we leave the root behind it will only grow again and take over.
